Uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs)
We are equipped with a range of UAVs which can provide high accuracy aerial surveys.

This is a survey grade fixed-wing drone which uses vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It can be equipped with a range of payloads depending on the type of survey. We have a high resolution full-frame red green blue (RGB) camera (Sony RXRII) suitable for land cover survey and digital elevation model (DEM) construction. We also have a MicroSense RedEdge-P multispectral camera, which collects data over 5-bands (red, green, blue, red edge and near-infrared) as well as a high-resolution panchromatic band which allows for pan-sharpened output resolutions. This camera is highly capable for vegetation survey.
The Wingtra is capable of flying large areas at high resolution (>100Ha at around 1.5cm/pixel when flown at 100m and using the RGB camera) in one flight and the battery lasts for about 50 minutes. When used with a dGPS base station it can use a post-processing correction (PPK) workflow to obtain centimetre scale accuracies.

This is a portable multi-rotor drone which is equipped with a 5-band multispectral camera (red, green, blue, red edge and near-infrared) as well as a RGB camera. There is a real-time correction (RTK) base station which allows for centimetre scale georeferencing precision. Flight time is approximately 28 minutes and multispectral images of around 4cm/pixel can be obtained from a flight height of 70m.

This is a small and portable drone which can be used to survey remote areas. It has an RGB camera and can also take video. If used with ground-control points, good georeferencing accuracy is achievable (<10cm).

These are used to calibrate multispectral images to ensure that any metrics calculated (e.g., NDVI) are comparable against other datasets.
