Share your academic documents with other institutions

Updated on: 15 June 2026

This service is available to anyone who is currently enrolled or completed study at the University from June 2010 onwards. Find out how to securely share your official documents with employers, institutions, and other organisations using the St Andrews Academic Documents platform.

Important

From September 2026, the University will no longer provide official transcripts in PDF format.

All official academic documents should be shared using the St Andrews Academic Documents platform, which provides security, verified access for third parties.

To securely share official documents with employers, other institutions or government organisations:

  1. Log in to St Andrews Academic Documents.
  2. Purchase document access.
  3. Click on Add Connections and add the relevant information. You must provide your connection's name and email address.

Third parties should be given access through the platform rather than sent downloaded copies.

You will be able to control what documents you wish to share and for how long your connection can view them.

Sharing documents through the platform ensures they are:

  • verified and protected against fraud
  • accessible directly by the recipient
  • up to date and under your control

Connection fee

A connection fee of £14 is payable by the third party.

Fee exemptions

The connection fee does not apply to:

  • Higher Education institutions
  • Local authorities
  • UK and overseas governmental bodies
  • Solicitors
  • Notaries public

Institutions not listed for fee exemption

If your institution is not listed above, the connection may need to be cancelled and resubmitted for the exemption to take effect. To get advice on the necessary steps, email [email protected] to contact the Academic Registry team.
